The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) during the first years of its existence worked on several issues and published the final versions of guidelines on a diversity of subjects. The Electronic Guidebook merely presents these guidelines in a different, more structured and more accessible manner. The primary purpose of the EGB is to promote the consistent implementation of EU legislation and convergence of supervisory practices by compiling a compendium of the guidelines presented of CEBS. This Electronic Guidebook is intended to aid supervisors and market participants as well as offers to the public an up to date, easy and well structured access to the CEBS work done so far.
