CEBS PUBLISHES RECAST VERSION OF GUIDELINES ON FINANCIAL REPORTING
The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) is today publishing a new release of the Guidelines on Financial Reporting (FINREP). These guidelines are intended to be used by credit institutions when preparing prudential reports to be sent to any European Union Supervisory Authority according to the IAS/IFRS endorsed by the European Commission.

CEBS PUBLISHES GUIDELINES ON OUTSOURCING
The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) is publishing today the final set of guidelines on outsourcing of credit institutions' business activities. The aim of the CEBS guidelines is to promote an approriate level of convergence in supervisory approaches to outsourcing. The proposed guidelines are based on current supervisory and market practices and also take into account international and European developments in the field outsourcing.

CEBS has received a call for advice from the European Commission on prudential treatment of commodities business. CEBS: QUANTITATIVE IMPACT STUDY SHOWS EXPECTED RESULTS
CEBS has published a report on the effects of the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD) on the amount of the regulatory minimum capital in Europe. The report summarises the results of the fifth Quantitative Impact Study (QIS 5) and shows expected reduction of minimum capital requirements after implementation of new directive.

CEBS has started a public consultation on additional technical guidance on the application of the supervisory review process under the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD). The guidelines on stress testing will be applied within the dialogue between supervisors and institutions and should not be interpreted as resulting automatically in the need for additional capital.

COREP XBRL TAXONOMY PUBLISHED
CEBS is pleased to announce the release of the XBRL taxonomy version 1.0 for the Common Reporting (COREP) framework. The COREP XBRL taxonomy 1.0 is available for on
www.corep.info in order to receive comments and suggestions improving the quality of the deliverable. Version 1.0 is to be used in production, and only minor improvements and changes are expected. National extensions can use version 1.0 as a sound basis.

THE IMPACT OF IAS/IFRS ON BANKS' REGULATORY CAPITAL AND MAIN BALANCE SHEET ITEMS
The introduction of IAS/IFRS has been a source of concern to supervisory authorities, notably because of fears that these standards could jeopardise the criteria that regulatory own funds have to fulfil. CEBS subsequently undertook an analysis of a sample of institutions' financial data to determine whether the supervisory concerns are justified and to what extent the Guidelines on prudential filters are effective.

The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS), the Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors (CEIOPS) and the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) have published a common cross-sector work programme for 2006.
