Welcome to the CEBS website

Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) gives advice to the European Commission on banking policy issues and promotes cooperation and convergence of supervisory practice across the European Union. The Committee will also foster and review common implementation and consistent application of Community legislation.

CEBS is currently focusing on the implementation of the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD). The CRD sets out new rules on capital requirements for banks and investment firms with the aim of making sure that financial institutions' capital is more closely aligned with the risks they face.
