Industry expert groups

The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) according to its 2010 work programme and longer term priorities, has, at the moment, established eight industry expert groups for technical dialogue in the various areas of work. The industry expert groups and CEBS discuss from a more technical point of view certain subjects. CEBS interest is to seek input from the industry at an early stage. The purpose is to identify the problems envisaged, analyse the issues identified and find as well as discuss possible solutions between the industry and the supervisors in order to have a structured and streamlined approach. As of today, the following areas of expertise have been identified: crisis management, interest rate risk arising from non-trading activities, large exposures, liquidity risk, Pillar 3 (including transparency of securitisation and structured products), reporting, securitisation, valuation and recognition of illiquid assets.
