The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) accordingly to its 2009 work programme and longer term priorities, has established till now seven industry expert groups for technical dialogue in the various areas of work. The industry expert groups and CEBS discussing from a more technical point of view certain subjects. CEBS interest is to seek input from the industry at an early stage. The purpose is to identify the problems envisaged, analyse the issues identified and find as well as discuss possible solutions between the industry and the supervisors in order to have a structured and streamlined approach. As of today, the following areas of expertise have been identified: large exposures, reporting, securitisation, valuation and recognition of illiquid assets, liquidity risk, reporting, and Pillar 3 (including transparency of securitisation and structured products).
